A revitalized the Russian player secured his maiden title for over two years with success over Frenchman Moutet in the competition final.

The athlete, a ex- number one, has experienced a difficult season, achieving just a single victory at the major tournaments and experiencing a meltdown at the American major.

Medvedev's varied form on the ATP Tour - and issues with his service game in particular - led to him falling of the elite rankings and eventually separating with long-term coach Cervara.

Now collaborating with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has steadily progressed in the last few weeks - peaking in a closely contested competitive win over challenger Moutet.

This marks Medvedev's maiden title since the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hardcourt since that period of that year.

Victory also signifies Medvedev has won 21 championships at twenty-one different competitions.

"For the first time I have attended a competition with my two daughters simultaneously, so to win a trophy is particularly special," commented tennis professional Medvedev.

"This victory is in tribute of my second daughter her name, because the initial championship I achieved when my older daughter her name was born was for her."

The athlete, the past champion, had been defeated in his last six title deciders, comprising in that event earlier this year.

Medvedev's retrieving approach and frequent reactions on the tennis court had prompted observers to wonder if his capacity to play at the elite level was over.

Yet the athlete has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, attempting to advance forward and perform assertively, backed up by an improved serve.

The champion fought back from a break down in the opening set against the difficult opponent, taking 4 of the last five exchanges to gain the advantage.

Both players traded breaks in the second set before the challenger, bidding for his initial tour title, gained dominance to force a final set.

The opponent saved four early-game opportunities in a close final set before Medvedev won the break to that score to serve for the match.

Fittingly, Medvedev earned the title with a point at the front of the court, with his opponent unable to manage a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
