A Pair of Detentions Following Heathrow Irritant Spray Attack

The assault resulted in the partial closure of the CTA tunnel and the T3 car park.

Two more people have been arrested in connection with a robbery at Heathrow Airport in which 21 people sustained injuries by what is thought to be pepper spray, according to police.

A man, 24, was arrested in Lambeth for suspected robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was detained for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. They both are still being held, the force said.

The arrests come after a probe into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the incident, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their luggage upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A toddler aged three was one of the injured in the event. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for medical care and were later released.

Police detained a man in his thirties on suspicion of robbery and assault near the location. He has since been released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were alerted at approximately 08:10 GMT following reports of a number of people hurt by an irritating chemical thought to be an irritant spray.

The attack - which authorities stated was a standalone incident and not considered terrorism - caused train delays and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking facility for a short time.
